Basel Dragons Junior Cricket Club

The U7 group has been a joy to watch this season as our youngest Dragons took their first steps into the game. At this age, the focus is on smiles, energy, and the thrill of simply holding a bat or chasing after a ball, not on scores or results.

Guided by our dedicated coaches, the children learned the basics – batting, bowling, catching, and throwing – through fun drills and mini-games that built coordination, confidence, and teamwork while keeping every session light-hearted.

Beyond skills, we introduced principles to shape both cricket and character. J-Baat (Just One Ball at a Time) taught kids to focus fully on each delivery, accept mistakes, and move on quickly. And our team jingle captures the spirit of the group:

The special highlight of the season was a thrilling victory against Zurich, where the U7s showed teamwork, enthusiasm, and fearless cricket. For many, it was their first taste of success, and the joy on their faces reflected just how far they have come.

With incredible support from parents and coaches, this season has been full of growth, fun, and friendships. The U7s have laid a strong foundation, and as they move into U9 and beyond, we know they will carry their skills, spirit, and love for the game with pride – because we are Dragons!
